The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship
The Goldwater Scholarship is awarded to college sophomores and juniors majoring in math, science, and engineering. Students who are competitive for the award have had significant research experience outside the classroom and have plans for graduate study and a career in research. The scholarship provides funding for the junior and/or senior year.
The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Foundation awards scholarships to high-achieving undergraduate math, science and engineering students. Students apply in their sophomore & junior years. Come learn about process and how you can be competitive. Once you are familiar with the questions, be prepared to complete and submit the application in one sitting by having the following materials ready in advance:
- Unofficial UConn transcript & any grade reports from other institutions
- Contact information for recommenders
- 1-2 pp resume
- Polished & edited essays and well-crafted answers to questions (you may copy & paste)
